This is now full but we will take a waiting list in case of any people pulling out.  Cost of weekend is approx $200 . A 50.00 deposit is due by 8th Feb paid to club and ref retreat and name when paying. Paraikete Threads 

March 2nd- June 2nd 2024

Paataka - Porirua


Blankets hold many meanings in Indigenous cultures. Paraikete Threads looks at how contemporary Māori artists are working with the stories, histories and knowledge systems embedded in the blanket. From sustainable and upcycled fashion designs, luxury blankets and repurposing mink blankets as space for wānanga, this exhibition considers how artists respond to the many threads of blanket history in te ao Māori and the new meanings produced through contemporary practice.

A fabric sale from lovers of projects, who just have too many projects! This event is for fabric-lovers and sewers - if you are looking for modern or vintage fabric, haberdashery, patterns and all things sewing-related – Fabric-a-brac is for you. Tea, coffee and sweet treats that you can enjoy in our seated area.

All proceeds go to Mary Potter Hospice.

It's been 4 years since Capital Quilters last exhibition so come and see what they have been busy creating. This exhibition promises to be full of colour, design and pattern. You don't need to be a quilter to admire the handwork that's gone into creating these works of art.

2024 Quilt Symposium - 2nd -6th October

The 2024 Waikato Quilt Symposium will be held at Cambridge High School from Wednesday 2nd to Sunday 6th October. The Organising Committee is made up of members of the Waikato Patchwork and Quilters Guild. They are happy to be partnering with Bernina who will sponsor an international tutor and bring along their products for use in workshops. The theme is “Carousel” which is reflected in the bright colours of the logo. The plan is for a multi-cultural, multi-colourful craft fest with a carnival twist.
